In the Third Plenary Session of the five session of the twelve National People's Congress dated March 12, the president of the Supreme People's court and the procurator general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate delivered 2016 annual work report.

On March 20, General Office of the State Council issued “Notification about issuing legislative work plan of the State Council in 2017”, proposing finishing the amendment of Patent Law and Regulations on Patent Agency within the year.

On March 29, China Copyright Protection Center issued “Notification for Cancelling Registration Fee of Software Copyright”, announcing free registration of software copyright from April 1, 2017.

On April 25, the Trademark Office announced acceptable item names of product and service apart from those included in “Distinguish table of similar goods and services”.
